Jamie Lee Curtis teases unspoken bond with pal Melanie Griffith

Jamie Lee Curtis opened up about her longtime friendship with Melanie Griffith.

In a recent chat with People during the premiere of her new movie, Ella McCay, on Tuesday, the 67-year-old actress revealed how she and Griffith began more than four decades ago.

Jamie shared that both of them are daughters of the famous parents, they never met until their 20s.

For those unversed, Curtis’ dad is Tony Curtis and her mom is Janet Leigh, while Griffith’s parents are Tippi Hedren and Peter Griffith.

“We were daughters of Hitchcock Blondes, raised in Los Angeles, didn’t know each other,” Curtis said.

They met first time at the set of their 1981 movie She’s in the Army Now.

“We were in a TV movie called She’s In the Army Now … for ABC about women in the army and she and I were in it. And it was like that idea of meeting somebody and going like, ‘Oh my God, where have you been my whole life?'” Curtis noted.

The Freaky Friday star went on to say, “And then we were party friends for quite a bit of [time] and had a lot of fun and we’ve known each other all these years, and we’ve reconnected in the last 10, 15 years in a much stronger way.”

“And we’re just dear friends, dear old friends,” she added.

Curtis further shared that she and Griffith do share some common grounds that make their bond special “without question.”

“None of which I can tell you, not one second can I tell you about it,” she teased.
