Rob Reiner’s daughter Tracy Reiner has broken her silence, revealing that she saw her father just a day before his brutal death at a family gathering.
The 61-year-old American actress, the adoptive daughter of the late American film director, producer, screenwriter, actor, and political activist, conversed with NBC News about the death of her renowned father and his wife, Michele Reiner.
She said, “I came from the greatest family ever. I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”
Tracy went on to share that she had met her late father at a family gathering just a day before his killing on December 14, 2025.
Rob adopted Tracy during his marriage to Penny Marshall, the late American actress, producer, and director.
Penny welcomed the Apollo 13 star with her ex-husband Henry, whom she married in 1963 and parted ways with in 1967.
For those unaware, Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles residence on December 14, 2025.
After the death of his parents, their son Nick Reiner was first interrogated by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division and he has now been taken into custody on suspicion of killing his parents.
PEOPLE magazine previously reported that multiple sources claimed that Nick murdered his parents, Rob and Michele, with apparent stab wounds, as the couple’s daughter, Romy, found them lifeless.
