Kathy Hilton has finally revealed why she always prefers cooking on Christmas.
During her interview with PEOPLE magazine, the 66-year-old American fashion designer and actress was asked if she cooks on Christmas Day, to which she replied, “Yes, always, because we want to have that turkey the next day,” and food gives a completely different feeling to the holiday season.
Kathy, who shares four children, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Barron Hilton, and Conrad Hilton, with her husband, Rick Hilton, told the outlet that food remains central when her family celebrates the festive season because it unites the whole family.
She clarified that she does not cook all the time, so preparing meals on special occasions feels different. “I like the feeling of it. I love it.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, whose Christmas celebrations typically extend to multiple days, opened up about a family ritual that they have been following since her children’s earlier years.
“We didn’t really open our gifts till Christmas night,” the mother of four quipped.
For those unaware, Kathy and Rick are also grandparents to eight grandchildren from three of their children, namely Paris, Nicky, and Barron.
It is pertinent to mention that the Hilton’s Christmas celebrations last for several days, from gift-opening to classic comfort dishes.
