Chase Stokes says Outer Banks cast is “ready” for the series to end.
The actor, 33, spoke about the upcoming end of Netflix hit Outer Banks in a recent interview, saying he and his co-stars are ready to wrap the series after more than six years.
“We’re thankful for the run, and we’re ready for it to be done,” Stokes told People of the series in which he plays John B. Routledge. For those unversed, Outer Banks follows two groups of teens in North Carolina on a treasure hunt for gold.
He also added that the cast wants the story to conclude properly, rather than dragging the plot into unnecessary territory.
“We want to cut the cord before we lose the plot,” he said, joking that they want to avoid going after aliens in later seasons.
The fifth and final season recently finished filming in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and South Carolina, and is scheduled to premiere in the new year.
Stokes recently teased on Instagram that the finale unfolds exactly as he was told it would when he joined the show.
The cast includes Drew Starkey, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Carlacia Grant, and Austin North.
Reflecting on his career, Stokes said he feels immense gratitude for the opportunity. “I was a kid who had a dream and no access to an industry… I’ve checked so many boxes I thought would span 40 years of my career,” he explained.
