Taylor Swift surprised everyone as she honoured the legendary singer Elizabeth Taylor in one of her latest tracks.
In October 3, 2025, the singer released the album The Life of a Showgirl which featured a track titled Elizabeth Taylor, honouring the icon who passed away at the age of 79 in March 2011.
Now, Christopher Wilding, son of Elizabeth’s second husband Michael Wilding, talked about the pop icon’s tribute song. As reported by Radar Online, Christopher claimed Taylor is a “rare, positive role model for you girls,” and he has “admired her philanthropy and courage to stand up for what she believes.”
While the track Elizabeth Taylor wasn’t the first time the Love Story singer honoured the late icon, Christopher claimed he listened to the song the day “it became available.” Gushing over Taylor Swift, Christopher Wilding said, “She and my mom do seem like kindred spirits.”
“They are both the very embodiment of female empowerment,” he added. “The way [Swift] has deftly captured the similarities and parallel tracks in their careers and personal lives is delightful.”
Taylor Swift has described the song Elizabeth Taylor as a “half-cosplay, half-singing from your own perspective” track that explores shared anxieties of “fickle fame.”
