Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once again facing scrutiny over the high turnover within their team.
Recently, reports emerged that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s chief communications officer has stepped down just months into the role.
Meredith Maines, who was appointed in January, is the 11th publicist to leave the Sussexes’ team in five years.
Speaking on the matter, TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan described the figure as “a hell of a lot to lose” in such a short period.
Sharing how one of the reports on the issue said that they “reduced grown men to tears,” the journalist added, “So publicists no doubt respond by saying, ‘well, Meghan, if you behave better, then these stories wouldn’t be written about you.”
“It’s the old vicious circle,” he added.
An insider told Page Six that Harry and Meghan’s appearance at Kris Jenner’s birthday bash this year was the “final straw” for Maines.
Another insider previously told the publication that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s appearance at the bash was “so tacky.”
“It truly shows that Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family,” the source said, referring to the royal family.
“These people may be stars in America, but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with his life and the monarchy.”
