Madonna recently admitted that she didn’t see any ray of hope when she was in the middle of a custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco.
For those unaware, the Queen of Pop and Guy, who tied the knot in December 2000 in Scotland, welcomed their biological son Rocco in August 2000 and adopted a son named David Banda in May 2008.
The high-profile Hollywood couple annulled their marriage in October 2008 due to irreconcilable differences.
Notably, the custody dispute between Madonna and the 57-year-old English filmmaker over Rocco started in 2015 when he refused to leave London to be with his mother in the United States. However, the battle ended in 2016, with a settlement that allowed him to live with his father in London.
Per Radar Online, the 67-year-old American singer-songwriter and record producer reminisced about that time, saying, “Someone trying to take my child away from me was like, they might as well just kill me.”
Even though Madonna and Rocco, 25, have patched things up, her latest boyfriend, Akeem Morris, is reportedly reeling with anger because of what she had to endure and is determined to give her ex-husband Guy a lesson.
An insider told the outlet, “Even though she and Guy have been done for years, Akeem is just hearing about it all, and he’s absolutely furious. He says the guy is a piece of [work] who deserves to face some consequences for hurting his ‘queen.'”
“Madonna plays into it big-time,” they added, claiming, “She loves that Akeem has her back, as she’s never had that kind of support from a partner before.”
The source stated that Akeem, the 29-year-old Jamaican native, is “a very old-school, masculine guy.”
“Even with the 38-year age difference between them and the huge financial disparity, he’s still the alpha with Madonna, and that means protecting her,” noted the insider.
