Simu Liu has reflected on the time he spent filming his latest project with Melissa Barrera.
In a new chat with Deadline, the acting sensation talked about his Peacock sci-fi thriller series, The Copenhagen Test.
In doing so, he heaped praise for his fellow actress, Melissa Barrera, who plays the role of Michelle, in the series.
“I told her, it almost feels like being on Love Island,” he recalled.
He went on to explain that the relationship between Michelle and his character, Alexander, exists in its own heightened bubble.
“It feels like Michelle and Alexander are in their own reality TV show about finding love, because they’re playing out this romance.”
Moreover, Liu added that the characters’ awareness of their surroundings adds another dimension to their performances.
“And of course, they know the cameras are on, so there’s a part of them that knows that they’re playing it up.”
Before conclusion, he said, “It’s a lot of layers to get to play, and she’s a great scene partner.”
